SUITES: Unlike the other rooms, the suites were designed by Patrick Gerand & Associates, and were built from Polirey M1 fireproof high pressure laminate (HPL), and finished in wenge Ref. C091, and sparrow-beaked every 10 cm. The rooms feature a backlit headboard that illuminates the central image, and 2 bedside tables suspended directly from the headboard. The bed area is separated from the living area by a fixed screen that hides two 120 x 250 cm sliding doors suspended from the ceiling, with a Klein Slid Top 130 retractable guide, and with a stainless steel Kube brand handle. These screens have flat TV screens built into both sides, for viewing from the bed or from the living room. The luggage storage bench is made of stainless steel and synthetic leather and is located next to the screen, and there are stainless steel strips built in to protect the Polirey finish from the impacts of the luggage. The wardrobe is equipped with a warm LED type interior light ARF-LED 3x1W model in chrome, and an automatic opening sensor. The wardrobe is divided into two parts: a 2-door top part incorporating a hanging rail, interior mirror, safety deposit box and with Blum brand Tandem Blumotion model interior drawers with built-in brake; and another area divided into 2 parts, the bottom with a concealed minibar and a curve-shaped cupboard for storing objects, plus an open niche area for preparing breakfast. The master bathroom has a full-length wall mirror which is backlit at the top and bottom with warm white LED-type fluorescent lights. The bathroom doors are made of the same finish as all the furnishings, with flashing and panelling in postformed Polirey laminate. PUBLIC AREAS: The hotel and the restaurant merit special attention, as do other areas. All the furnishing was carried out in Oberflex 412 matte wenge colour stained oak veneer and Bois Croco embossed finish. The reception features 4 modules lined in natural stone - the same stone as that lining the walls of the hotel reception. The interior furnishings are made of Oberflex veneer and include 10 mm tempered glass display cabinets. A pair of rings were installed in the restaurant area: one made in natural copper and painted to prevent corrosion, and the other made of HPLPur Metal Polyrey laminate Ref. C-000 satin. The lower part of the kitchen is lined with Oberflex veneer. The restaurant has a two-sided sofa structure with leatherette cushions, with auxiliary furnishing and hidden wheels by Hettich, to provide support for the restaurant, and other fixed supporting furnishings: all made with Oberflex. Two 700 cm long high tables were installed resting on a 30 x 30 cm iron IPE and with only two legs at the ends. All clad externally with Oberflex veneer, but in this case without relief. In the area of the meeting rooms, 15 bamboo cane carts were created that have the function of separating environments between various parts of the salons. The natural colour varnished bamboo cane is approximately 10 to 17cm in diameter and is positioned unevenly. The base of the carts is made of stainless steel with hidden wheels that allow them to move freely. All the doors of the salons were lined with 0.8 mm HPL Digiform Formica, with printed images that continue along the ceiling just above the door, in order to give the image a greater depth. novotel.jpg novotel/novotel novotel 69 1 1 2 1 JACK&JONES STORE PORTAFERRISA, BARCELONA JACK&JONES STORE, PORTAFERRISSA, BARCELONA [a href='http://www.ivanraga.com' target='_blank']IVAN RAGA[/a] Wood decor: The Jack&Jones store was fully renovated with fir wood recycled from pallets to match the design theme of the brand itself. In addition, the walls were then clad with rectangular pieces of painted ceramics. The various elements were: a 22 ml long, 100 cm wide and 30 cm high U-shaped decorative ceiling in recycled wood, suspended on metric rods fixed directly into the metalwork of the structure. This structure was constructed out of solid wood and B-s1-d0 fireproof boarding with the same shape. Sheets of solid recycled euro-pallet fir of different widths and thicknesses were then set in place to match the new image of the brand worldwide. The furnishings consisted of shelves, central gondola shelving, sofas and clothes hangers, all made from recycled fir wood. In the area set aside for changing rooms and clothes display dummies, the walls and ceilings were clad with a solid pine structure, prepared for passing through all necessary corrugated conduits for electrical installations, and then clad with 16 mm thick B-s1-d0 fireproof board on both sides. The interior of the changing rooms were clad with DM fibre-board coated with a rough finish primer, to be subsequently painted and given the right texture. On the outside they were clad with the same solid wood as the ceilings. Instead of rendering the surfaces and then affixing the ceramic elements, the store's structural pillars were factory prepared to facilitate the installation work on site and move from a wet to a dry construction. Sections of L-shaped DM B-s1-d0 fireproof fibre-board were fitted and the ceramic pieces were affixed to these. Consisting of fixed windows at the bottom up to a height of 100cm, and single and double pane windows from a height of 100cm upwards. GU brand metalwork with mushroom head locking bolts, with tilt and turn opening for the active pane and an automatic opening lever for the passive pane. Hoppe brand Paris model aluminium handle. Woodwork finished in Becker - Acroma brand water-based varnish at a ratio of 300 microns/sq. metre in three coats (primer, undercoat and finish). Double-glazing with 6mm outer pane, 12mm air cavity, and 5mm inner pane. Facade external window struts: External window struts (where the Warema Venetian blinds run) made from Flanders pine, with the same external varnish treatment as the wooden windows. External Doors: Armoured Outside Entrance Door to the rooms, consisting of: 83 cm wide, 210 cm high and 7 cm thick door panel, with DM lacquer on the inside and covered with Prodema Prodex board on the outside (the same reference as the ventilated facade). Flush with the external façade to blend in. Tesa brand three point security doorknob. Four AMIG brand chrome steel security bolts. JNF brand stainless steel L-shaped inside handle with circular metal rosette, and a JNF brand 25mm diameter stainless steel outside handle. Brass spy-hole in chrome finish with a wide angle of vision. AMIG brand internal concealed draught excluder at the bottom of the door. External cladding: PRODEMA brand PRODEX model external cladding in 6mm thick thermal-hardened phenolic resin board and an external finish in natural Okume veneer. Attached with BOSTIK PANELTACK adhesive to wooden members previously treated for Class 3 use in accordance with UNE 350-1 and 350-2. Electrical cabinets: Electrical cabinets for housing electric panels, BIES and other elements, constructed in Flanders pine and with the same PRODEX board as used to clad the external facade. "Can Minguell", which dates back to 1854, was a spinning, dyeing and cloth-making factory and is a level A listed building. This industrial building, consisting of a ground floor and three upper floors, has a main structure of pillars and vaulted ceilings in anchored brickwork. The gabled roof rests on wooden trusses of Longleaf Pine with metal straps. External wooden doors and windows: The external façade is constructed in laminated chestnut wood originating from sustainably-managed forestry in the province of Girona. It consists of hinged windows of different sizes. GU brand metalwork with mushroom head locking bolts. AMG brand "L" shape stainless steel handle. The wood is finished in Xylazel Sol matte chestnut brown natural open-pore wood-stain, at a ratio of 100 micres/m2 in three layers (primer, undercoat and topcoat). The double-glazing consisting of a 6 mm outer glass pane, a 12 mm air cavity, and a 5 mm inner glass pane in the small panes and 4+4 mm/ 12 mm /6 mm glass panes in the large panes, with bevelled edges to prevent micro-fissures. In the emergency exits the doors open outwards and incorporate a 25 mm high aluminium base-plate to allow the exit of disabled persons while guaranteeing a completely airtight seal. These doors are fitted with a locking device with an anti-panic opening bar. Interior Doors: Interior doors with a DM finish in white lacquer. Solid doors consisting of a wood-chip board structure covered with DM 5 mm thick fibre-board on both sides. These areas interact in order to share end users and resources, link the three main spaces of L’Atlàntida, group together public entrances and create a joint reception area. They constitute an informal meeting point and crossroads for all those who have come to enjoy their passion: performance. The Joaquim Maideu Room The auditorium seating capacity varies from 280 to 384 depending on the set-up. It is used first and foremost for musical performances. It can also host theatrical and dance performances or can be used as a reception venue or as a set for audiovisual productions. Its spatial versatility and conceptual simplicity make it one of the most multi-purpose rooms of L’Atlàntida. The Ramon Montanyà Room The new theatre, with a seating capacity of 800, has paved the way for an ambitious schedule of performances. L’Atlàntida presents a high quality programme that caters for a large audience in a fully equipped venue. The theatre's spatial, functional and technical characteristics make it ideal for both rehearsals and performances. As such, the theatre can host: • Medium and large-scale performances of classical and musical theatre, and of classical and contemporary dance. • Orchestral concerts and performances of classical and contemporary music. • Rehearsals and preparation work. • Conferences or corporate activities. The School of Music and Conservatory (EMVIC) A space to create new melodies. The main purpose of the centre is to teach music theory and instrumental lessons. Through exceptional training, the centre's teachers provide all the tools necessary for a successful professional career. Double glazing formed by 6 + 6 mm outer glazing, 12 mm air cavity and 5 mm inner glazing. The outer glazing is low emissions and with solar control. Outer door: 83 cm wide door leaf, 210 cm in height and 7 cm in thickness, with panels of solid iroko on both sides measuring 13 cm in width and 1.8 cm in thickness, which are connected using the tongue and groove system (male-female). The grain runs vertically. 7 cm thick solid iroko side pillar (the same as the leaf). Varnished on the inside and the outside in the same colour and with the same characteristics as the windows. 3-point security lock by TESA. 4 chrome-plated stainless steel security bolts by AMIG (without height adjustment). GRASSI[/a] The interior of the Waiting Room at Sants Station was decorated to coincide with the new arrival of the High Speed Train in Barcelona. The walls were clad with fire-resistant MDF fibre board with a veneer of 1mm thick natural American walnut, varnished with natural colour matt (gloss 20) fire-resistant polyurethane varnish. Two large special sliding doors (270x250cm) were installed, separating the two areas of the waiting room, to create two independent areas and environments should this prove necessary. The first of these being the waiting room with sofas, and the other the area for meeting and accessing the internet. The doors were made without marking any joint in all the width of the 270 cm panel, and were suspended from the false ceiling completely aligned by Klein Slid 125 guides with retractable mechanism. The cupboards and hinged doors were made completely flush with the veneer to conceal any opening and to create a greater uniformity in all the wall surfaces. The cupboards have varying niches in MDF with NCS S1070-G50Y colour lacquer that provide changes of level, colour and brightness to enhance the walnut still more and to give greater personality to the set of cupboards. A niche was built into the main access cladding to house a cushion in synthetic leather that acts as bench-sofa. The shutter slats are made of 10x3cm Flanders pine. The metal structure of the shutters consists of 35x35mm iron profiles painted with Titan Oxiron Forja 204 black paint. The sliding and hinged shutters incorporate Saheco brand upper guides and mechanisms of SF-A126 and SM-432D models. The shutters’ automatic locking mechanisms are AGB brand black zamak locks. The façades are covered in Flanders 10x2cm wood on pine wood strips treated with Corpol PF3 Risk Class 3 in accordance with CTE, and with a veneer finished in walnut colour water-resistant lazure and water-based varnish. The cladding for the window jambs consists of three-ply board in Flanders pine with walnut colour water-resistant lazure and a water-based varnish. The banisters are made of three-ply Flanders pine board surrounded by an iron framework at the perimeter. thmb/esterri.jpg esterri/esterri esterri 35 1 1 1 13 1 PORCHES IN BEGUR PORCHES IN BEGUR Construction of porch structure for 18 homes in Begur (Aiguablava), made with solid Douglas fir 26x14cm and 16x12cm wooden beams on plywood pillars of 20x20cm Douglas Fir immersion treated with protective fungicides and insecticides for Class 2 usage, and finished with three coats of water-based Lasure. The beams are fixed to the wall with concealed metal fittings (not embedded into the walls). The exposed fittings are made of AISI 316 stainless steel. Fitted above the porch structure is an overlapping dais of Douglas Fir treated by immersion with protective fungicides and insecticides for Class 2 usage and finished with three coats of water-based Lasure, and affixed to the structure’s beams with screws. The decks are waterproofed with sheets of asphalt felt with mineral auto-protection, with the joints between them overlapping and hot welded. Sant Cugat del Valles) Soldevila did the carpentry and cabinetmaking on the project, on assignment received from the professional management of EKLIPTA. Furniture in the hall was done in DM fibre covered with Formica brand high pressure laminate of brushed aluminium, ref. M2022. Cabinet doors were made without handles, with the touch closing system. In the part of the garage cabinets were made with sliding doors and adjustable shelves, also covered with Formica aluminium. The guides on the doors are totally hidden since the door covers and totally hides both the guides and the bearings. Office furniture was done using DM fibre totally covered with bone coloured, Formica brand high pressure laminate, ref. F7934, including drawers for files and doors with interior adjustable shelves. Handles on all the furniture are JNF brand stainless steel, ref. IN.22.209.10, in circular sections 12 mm in diameter and with length depending on the size of each door. Interior decoration: Sliding interior partition for dividing the room into 2 different areas measuring 600x250cm, with a hinged door hidden into the wall. Partition suspended on Klein Slid 125 retractable guide. Bathroom: Bathroom unit in Oregon Pine sheet, with hidden doors at the sides and with tutch latch opening. Finished in Grupo GA NI brand natural texture varnish Ref. Lignum. Garden shed: Constructed in two-ply fir wood and three-ply fir boarding. Autoclave treated for Risk Class 3 in accordance with UNE-EN 325-2 and with lazure in the autoclave. Windows in Flanders pine with a single hinged pane. The interior structure of the lining and the central counter is done in sections of Flanders pine 4.5 x 4.5 cm. Swing doors encased in lining with encased hinges from Koblenz, Kubica model, and superimposed aerial closure from the Dorma brand. Lacquered on the inside. Lining for false ceiling with rectangular sections of DM fibre veneered in oak. With built-in lights by Hera. Shutters with SuperGradhermetic adjustable slats motor-driven with Somfy®. mini6.jpg proj6/proj daa96 80 1 1 24 1 CAL XIM RESTAURANT CAL XIM RESTAURANT SOLDEVILA Soldevila carried out the carpentry work and cabinet-making for decorating the restaurant; a project designed by Pulsen and executed by the builders Contrast Reforms S.L. The side wall that is a characteristic of the premises and that undulates only on entering the restaurant was clad with profiles of natural colour varnished oak. To carry out the cladding, a substructure of Flanders pine was assembled, to which the profiles were then attached, and this was carried out with strips of DM fibre board with a 1 mm thick oak veneer. 40kg density rock wool was installed inside the substructure to insulate against the noise of the restaurant. Access to the bathrooms was constructed at a lower entrance left in the cladding. Walls clad with padded cushions and upholstered in Gastón & Daniela brand leather. Prior to upholstering, the wall was clad in MD. The sofa is also upholstered in the same Gastón & Daniela material. Bookshelves and Shelving interspersed, in the wall padding, with open modules at two different heights, carried out in oak panelling varnished in a dark walnut colour. The bar top was constructed in uneven oak boards, aged in saw-cut style and varnished with a water-based open pore varnish. The table tops were constructed in COMPAC brand black quartz. The glass entrance door was constructed of solid French oak. Kitchen: Kitchen cabinets made of 19 mm agglomerate board with oak veneer, with a matt finish natural colour varnish. The doors are of solid oak slats left as saw-cut and finished hand brushed with an application of a special oil for inside surfaces. The handles are of calibrated iron plate with a waxed graphite finish. The visible shelves are of solid oak by Schotten & Hansen, with hidden fastenings affixed directly onto the walls, and designed to hold 80 kg of weight. Bathrooms: 1) Bathroom unit manufactured with water-resistant agglomerate chipboard with 1 mm thick oak veneer finished with Grupo GANI brand natural texture matt varnish, Ref. Legno. 2) Bathroom unit manufactured with 7 cm thick Schotten & Hansen brand solid oak parquet platform, with hand-brushed finish on the top and the legs. Includes two drawers with a smooth anthracite grey Formica inner lining and with Blum TandemPlus hidden brake guides. Doors: 1) Outside sliding doors manufactured in chipboard (MD) painted on site, suspended with an iron guide specially forged for the project. 2) Inside sliding doors manufactured in chipboard (MD) painted on site, suspended with a retractable and hidden Klein Slid 80 guide. 3) Pivoting doors made from solid oak horizontal and vertical slats with a separation between them. The slats are 16 mm thick Schotten & Hansen brand solid oak parquet platform, with a hand-brushed finish. The door panels are 6 cm thick, and have a laser cut iron frame with a waxed graphite finish. The bottom pivot is embedded directly into the ground and the top pivot is embedded in the iron frame with a laser cut fitting. The lock fastener is also laser cut into the iron structure. Cupboards. Inside of the cupboard manufactured in 19mm agglomerate board with an oak veneer and matt finish varnish. There are two types of door: 1) Operable doors manufactured from chipboard (MD) painted on site. Operable doors with a 6x4cm solid oak framework with a hand-brushed finish and matt varnish, divided into three height levels, where a Gastón & Daniela fabric is stretched, with leather handles by Corium Casa. Inside of the cupboard with Lumen fluorescent tubes incorporating an infrared sensor for automatic switch on. Doorless dresser: Manufactured in 19mm agglomerate board with an oak veneer and matt finish varnish. Shelves with a 7 cm front flap cut at 45º. Shelving. Desk top and shelves manufactured from 7 cm thick chipboard (DM) painted on site, with a hidden iron fastening system affixed directly onto the partition wall to hold each shelf with a weight of 80 kg . Subsequently lamellas 15cm wide were applied with curved boards of 6mm and veneered with wenge. To curve the pieces moulds were made for each piece due to the unique radial curvature different from the other pieces. It can be observed that each line of lamellas is on different vertical plains at three of the corners and at one it is on the same vertical plain, so that in one of the corners each line of lamellas recovered the vertical plain with respect to the line directly below it. The module was varnished directly on the job, during the night, with fire-resistant varnish. The copper module was done by preparing the wall with pine laths and subsequently lining it with curved DM of 10mm (two layers). Copper lamellas (TECU classic and TECU oxide) were fixed. The panels measure 180 x 58.5 cm and were mechanically installed using stainless steel bolts of Ø12mm. All the bolts were lacquered in the same RAL colour as the Trespa panel. The panels were bolted to a structure of laths of autoclaved Flanders wood in 12x4.5 cm sections and painted black so that green coloured pine cannot be seen from below. The laths were bolted to a structure of iron in 6x6 cm sections that were hung from the 50-80cm concrete structure to allow for passage of installations for water, lights, wiring… Some of the panels also acted as hinged registers to permit access to the installations. They had 5 highly padded hinges and three spring locks. Lights, ventilation grates and built-in loudspeakers were installed. PERGOLAS OF IPE: Pergolas of IPE in 12x5 cm sections bolted to each end with a metric bolt of galvanised steel on each side of the jardinieres. HANDRAILS IN IPE: Handrails in sections of IPE 11x5cm with rounded upper edges.
