IMPROVEMENTS TO A RESIDENCE FOR THE PHYSICALLY DISABLED AT NO. 4, C. VIGATANS, BARCELONA

The aim of this project was to reform the inside of a building with rooms to create a residence for the physically disabled, with four independent cohabitation units, and a total capacity of 48 people. Each unit will comply with the minimum requirements for operating independently of the others.

The building has undergone numerous alterations throughout its history, considering that its original construction dates from the 15th century. Bearing in mind therefore that it is a listed building, the structure of the facade has to be respected and the general morphology preserved, while guaranteeing the lighting and ventilation required for running the residence, plus the necessary sound and thermal insulation.
